Data lifecycle

Backup and data retention for Harbor Command workspaces.

Harbor Command is designed to keep customer workspace data available while the account is active, avoid unnecessary duplicate backups when nothing changed, and make deletion clear before customer data is permanently removed.

Active workspaces keep their records

A paying customer should be able to keep the vessel records, work orders, reports, documents, crew data, and operational history they add while their workspace remains active and in good standing.

Backups focus on changed data

The backup direction is to protect customer data without repeatedly copying the same unchanged records for no reason. That keeps storage cleaner and helps control operating cost as Harbor Command grows.

Account deletion is permanent

If a workspace owner deletes the account, Harbor Command should show a clear warning first. Deleting the account permanently removes the workspace data so storage can be reused for other customers.

Billing cancellation stays in the customer portal

Subscription cancellation is handled by the workspace owner through the billing portal available inside the customer workspace. Deleting data and canceling billing are intentionally shown as serious account actions.

How customer data should be handled

  1. Keep workspace data available while the customer account remains active.
  2. Back up changed production data instead of making needless duplicate full copies.
  3. Warn the owner before permanent account deletion.
  4. Remove deleted workspace data according to the published Privacy Policy and Terms.
